I have/had a cap on one of my front teeth that has come off this morning. I've rung my dentist, but he can't fit me in until Monday.
Problem is, I'm best man at my mates wedding tomorrow, and I now have a bit of a lisp!.
Is there anything I can use to stick it back on temporarily?.
My mate reckons superglue will do the trick. Not totally convinced though!!.

Super glue was developed by the US Army medics for quick stiching in the battlefield, i "THINK" you can buy medical grade glue from Boots these days...

Boots do a repair kit for sticking bits of teeth back on, my g/f has been using one for weeks on a veneer that keeps coming off whilst she waits for the new one to be made.

Hope this helps

Thanks both.
I'll pop over to Boots later.

Was worried I'd end up gluing my mouth shut if I used suerglue!

Cheers.

Sugar free chewing gum has been recommended to me by my dentist (to hold things in place temporarily)

May I suggest you take the 'glue' stuff with you, AFAIK it is only a 'temporary' fix, so it could last days, hours, who knows!

Super glue WILL glue your mouth.... It's designed as a skin glue. Just be careful you don't glue your mouth shut if you use it

Definitely a good idea, from g/f's experience its a combination of the two. First time lasted a couple of days then graduated down to a few hours. You can't eat for 2 hours after applying it either.

So I'd recommend doing as she does and keep it in your handbag

I've got visions of the cap shooting out halfway through the speech and landing in someones drink!.
Could be worse, last time it came off I was downing what was left of my pint. Thought the pint was a bit lumpy!

I have no experience gluing gnashers back together, although I did have a go sticking coins down onto the ground along the seafront last week (and ended up gluing my fingers together). It could be a fiddley job, if I were you, Id wait until monday.

Let the dentist get stuck into the job. You dont want to be be fighting tooth and nail to unstick it if it goes wrong. Or cut your teeth in the art of gluing using your own tooth! It would be a real kick in the teeth if it went wrong. And if people commented on the botched job, you'd have to lie through your teeth and blame the dentist. After a while, you'd be fed up to the back teeth of all the comments. Escape by the skin of your teeth whilst you still can etc

You could work the lisp into the best mans speech as a joke?

I take it from this then that Medical Grade super glue isn't the same as your normal Loctite stuff? Which probably means by rights I should be dead by now... I've been using whatevers in the workshop to glue up cuts

I've just spoken to the bloke who's getting married. After getting me to say various words containing F's and S's and peeing himself laughing, he doesn't seem too bothered.

We're gonna discuss a plan over a few pints tonight!.

Was thinking of working it into the speech.
Just have to remember to keep my mouth firmly shut on the photos!.

Or use some sugar free chewing gum to hold it in place, just for the pics.
