For those who go abroad.

The E111 form is going at the end of the year, and is being replaced by the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card)

www.ehic.org.uk and www.dh.gov.uk/travellers tell you all about this change.

I ordered new cards online and they arrived within a week, very good.

Tony :)

Turning into a bit of a mess as well from what I've heard. Inconsistencies between the various EU countries and incorrect information being shown on the cards.

Can't anyone get anything right anymore?

My bro is doing this. The E111 ran out on Sept 1st and if you go on holiday before you receive your new card you'll get a cover note.

This card runs for 5yrs, mine expires 05/09/2010 so I presume that once you have the new one, your E111 is defunct.

He actually works for the shitty crap that are the government and believe me he wants to strangle them as much as you do. All E111's ran out on Sept 1st and are now effectively null and void. I suggest you ring up and order your new card asap.

When I did my form for an E111 just before Le Mans this year there was a box you could tick to get them to send one of the new cards to you as soon as they were ready..

Go mine about a month ago.

More typical NooLabia bullshit!!! The EU has agreed only to implement these at sometime in the future (no timescale)!!! HOWEVER NO EU country accepts these (yet) and you will have to pay everything up front and reclaim all costs against your insurance or NHS.... typical GB EU conforming bullshit before anyone else has even thought about agreed to things!!!!!

Why does the UK fall over itself to implememnt EU regulations before everyone else - and at a much more draconian level?

Is that a rhetorical question?

I don't even see the need for these forms/cards.

Surely your EU passport should be all you need?
