A quicky.

Am going to a golfing day today (late a.m.) at the Berkshire. I believe I am being roped in to help and to act as card-distributer/photographer/general golfing totty, in return for a slap up lunch, and a few choice conversations with potential clients. :hehe:

So - bearing mind the club is apparently a bit 'old skool', to the point where women are not allowed in the bar, what should a lady wear? I'm thinking trouser suit is a safe option, but I have no idea about the protocul when it comes to the world of golf! :D

Someone help!

bunny girl outfit, large hat with 'D' on front to signify full understanding of golf syndrome, oh and nice leather shoes, to further enhance the wasted walking experience
there that should do it.

thing for untangling the little windmills vanes, when they trap ball on slope bit

I thought golfers all dressed like clowns - big check trousers etc?

If the men dress like pimps then the women should dress like their whores.

Hope this helps.

I'm a golfer IMHO if you're going out on the course, a trouser suit will be too formal. However, if you're going to be general organiser based in the spike bar then a trouser suit will be just fine.

When I go to corporate golf days and I generally wear smart cotton (chino type fabric) trousers or preferably smart shorts, with a sleeveless polo shirt and a long sleeved jumper worn over the top. (mmmm niiiiiiiice ) It may be worth pointing out, if you're going to be walking on the course to take pics you'll need flat shoes, some courses will insist on golf shoes, even for non-players.

As for lunch, I would imagine the golfers will remain in their golfing attire, however, if it is a formal 'lounge suit' lunch, then a trouser suit and heels would be ideal. (I'm sure you knew that anyway)

Finally, the other word of advice for a non-golfer doing general golf day stuff; when someone is about to take a swing, do not speak, move, or do anything that would distract the player. Oh and I'm told you can get a golf cart airborne if you try hard enough.

I don't suit red - how ridiculous!!!

You lot are hilarious - I knew somehow I wouldn't get too many straight answers on this one!

Chimgirl - thanks. Apparently no need to go on the course, bar the first tee, so heels will be fine. Thanks for the (sensible) advice.

I'm guessing that there will be a 'starter' and you'll be taking pics of the first tee shot? Personally, I'd put on a pair of flat shoes just for the time you're going to be on the first tee. Heels won't be fine if you have to walk onto the grass, particularly if it has been raining, you may find that you have to balance on your tip toes to avoid sinking!

Clearly, this advice will be completely redundant if there is a footpath running alongside the tee.

Anyway, have a great day.

Will do. Thank you ladies and gents. Hopefully the gimp advice will not be required.
