I need to buy something off ebay, and they don't accept paypal from outside the US. Does that sound dodgy, or am I just being a bit paranoid :scratchchin:

What they do want is Western Union transfer, but I have no idea how much that costs as the website doesn't mention it.

I thought the general rule of thumb was Western Union = Good chance of a scam..

I'd look elsewhere.

Agreed, have heard only bad things from people using Western Union, don't do it!

Hmmm That's what I thought. He also uses Bidpay, which is Western Union's auction pay site. Is this any better??

Never heard of regional limitations for PayPal - the beauty of it is that it transcends geography and currency. The only exception is some developing countries.

Don't send payment by WU; the seller can take the money and run. It's OK to receive money that way though.

That's what I thought, but I'm an ebay newbie so I thought I'd best check.

The only limitations I've heard of with PayPal has been in countries with a high level of fraud, Russia, West Africa etc. Western Union and MoneyGram are loved by scammers because its cash and its untraceable. Stay well clear!
