Just been listening to some news programme on some terrestrial channel with some chap wittering on about the USA hurricane and how climate change is responsible and we all gotta go by bus and fart in a jar etc etc. The interviewer was lapping it up and suggesting this guy goes and warns all the governments of the world about the upcoming meteorological armageddon blah blah blah

Sorry about the lack of detail, and sympathies to all affected by extreme weather in any way, but I had to leave the room to avoid putting my shoe through the screen.

Someone - I've done it enough times but I'm damn sure I'll be doing it again - should tell the media that there is widely published peer reviewed research showing no human signal in global temperature data going back over 400 years. We can no more prevent hurricanes big or small than we can stop the sun shining. That's not a coincidental statement. It's also ironic as one of the recent resignations from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Dr Chris Landsea, resigned precisely because the research on hurricanes was beiong misprepresented by the IPCC in the media for political purposes. Chris Landsea's resignation statement is here

The House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee agree and have effectively blown the whistle on this mother of all hoaxes. Take a read if you haven'ty already seen this - it's noblessespeak for 'Kyoto is B0ll0x'

That news item reminded me of a circular from 'The Sustainable Energy Partnership' giving the same message as the guy on the news and suggesting that everyone write to their MP to ask them to remain in the House of Commons on Friday 11th November as there are a couple of Bills that require a majority from 100+ MPs or they fall. One is The Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Bill, the other is similar hogwash but if I type that name too I'll be shaking with rage and unable to continue with this post. The reason they are scared is that MPs know that Friday is POETS day and act accordingly

So, how to do something about this...

We can e-mail our MPs after the recess - or do it now so they got some reading already waiting - using the link from this parliamentary site and invite them to see more of their family on 11th November. Feel free to use the links above in your e-mail letter, and please do write or they'll think all of us out here in voterland believe in man-made global warming ecobull5h1t.

Go on, p155 off a green today - the planet will feel better for it

ETA - if you've got fence marks on your bumcheeks over this then click the links, take a read, and jump down. Any q's, post up here
