I ask because most of my friends use either spectacles or contact lenses, and I seem to very much be a rarity when it comes to having naturally near-perfect vision. A lot of people refuse to believe me when I tell them this.

I think though that it may deteriorate with age (I am 24, but then again so are all my friends).

Did any of you have great vision till you hit a certain age and then did your eyes suddenly lose sight of it all?

My vision was better than 6/6 until I hit about 40 then presbyopia began to set in - I still do fine uncorrected, but it won't be long before I need to get some reading glasses.

Mine was fine until I reached about 12/13. For some reason I started wearing glasses not long after I found that the Kays catalogue had a lingerie section...

Same here, it started going at about 12ish and I got glasses at 16. Too much close reading when younger, Thats why most kids who study hard have glasses, if you say worked on a ship looking at the horizion all day you would have excellent vision. If you don't use it you lose it! (wish someone had told me earlier when it would have made a difference...)

My vision is second to none.

Its one of my best features and one I hope I won't lose.

I fear too many hours on PH will it up though.

Can you all see the Sun? That's 93m miles away. How far do you want to be able to see?

As far as I know my vision is good and I'm coming up to 43. Don't know when I'm going to need the old specs though.
My Father started using them for reading when he got to about 45.

My eye sight is perfect up to about 8 inches away and then everything is out of focus. Been as blind as a bat for as long as I can remember.

If you have kids, get their eyes tested regularly, and be pushy to get them to be thorough when they are checked. When I was little, I had a lazy eye, and I should have had a patch on my good eye so that the lazy one would catch up, its called 'Amblyopia' and it's an easy fix. Only with me, no one ever noticed and I didnt know anything was wrong being a kid at the time, I thought it was normal.

Result being, left eye can only make out shapes and colours, but no detail at all, it is as blurred as looking through the obscure glass in your bathroom window. The right eye however is brilliant, I can read the dealer name and phone number on a number plate when many folks cant even read the reg number itself.

Creepy dude - I am exactly the same as you, in the exact way you have described

Amblyopia lazy left eye, almost perfect right eye.

Had an eyetest the other day, the eyeperson was quite stunned that without glasses using both eyes my vision was almost perfect
