Read the other day that most keyboards, particularly shared keyboards at work, are dirtier than the average toilet. Such delights as nasal droppings, saliva, sweat, food stuffs and urine all lurk in or on the keyboard. It was also said that home computers owned my men also contained another male bodily fluid.
Just thought I'd pass that info on.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away if a user was particularly arsey and faceteous (sp?) it wasnt unknown for them to receive a 'piss mouse'. I'l leave that one to your imagination

I can tell you there's a lot more urine lurking around our toilet compared to our keyboard! After having builders in for 9 weeks, it's a state

Isn't urine sterilised anyway?

Your own urine yes. I dont remember the what/why of it, but i heard it was ok to piss into your own fleshwounds in whatever type of jungle survival situation required that you do so. But pissing on others fleshwounds was a

Fresh urine is sterile (unless you have a UI infection ) so It doesn't matter whose piss you use to clean wounds.... the only danger my be from an immunological reaction caused by foriegn proteins in the other persons urine. Other than that its a mildly antiseptic salt solution..... Although how it ever finds its way into a keyboard is anyones guess!

I cleaned a work keyboard a few weeks ago and it made me retch there were several pubes in there how?!

Don't bother me. If you analysed every public seat you sat your arse on, every door handle you touched and the contents of the air you breathed, you wouldn't leave the house.

True, I think a fairly dirty world is more healthy than a sterile one.

Agree. I personally haven't taken a pill for anything in ages (at least five years), and haven't been to see the doctor about any ailments for at least a decade.

When I get a bit sick, I let my body fight it off. Heck, even when I got hit with full-blown flu earlier on this year I let my body deal with it. No chemical help whatsoever.

As a result I get sick a lot less than my friends (who are around my age and share a similar lifestyle), and on the odd occasion where I do get sick, it goes away a lot quicker than in the case of my medicated mates.

The result? Not a single sick day off work, EVER, and I'm proud of that.

Depends how you define dirty. Without hygeine (food safety, sanitation, clean water)the average life expectancy would be about 45 years. Most people don't think about the huge amount of our resources that goes into ensuring we don't get sick. A clean infection free environment is a lot healthier than a "fairly dirty" environment. 150 years of medical science backs this up.....

Yes but, if the environment is too clean then in the future one disease could wipe us all out because we are not strong enough to cope. Even if we only lived to 45 with the dirt we would probably be stronger and be able to survive an onslaught.
So, the species continues in the second scenario. That is the goal of a species, to survive, isn't it?

species don't have a goal, individuals do. That goal is to live as long as possible and have as much sex as possible....... does this explain the bodily fluids found in keyboards?

I think you have to keep the clean obsession in perspective. Point being there are also standards for the amount of insects/shit in various foodstuffs. yes folks, you probably eat a fair old of nasties that you buy from the supermarket, breathe in, get on your hands. For christ sake, instead of bleaching everything, realise that life is filthy and why your immune system exists.

There are 120000 different sorts of micro organism in the average female "puss", (compared to about 20000 on a chopper), so before you go muff diving, bear that in mind that it is probably more filthy than the average computer keyboard.
