In a sideing just outside Wimbledon station is a gadget the size of loco with a sign on it proclaiming it to be a "Wet Spot Machine".
Does anyone know what it does?

I used to work for the railways.

Wet spots are subsidence, which can be dangerous when a train goes past at full bore.

These machines take and apply the treatment to the site of the subsitence to fix the problem.

There are lots of toys for us to play with on the rail - I drive a roadrailer for a living, usually at silly o'clock on a weekend night.

Standing trackside when one of beardys tilting trains hurtles past is an experience. First time one went past was an underpant messer.
