Spare some thoughts for my father in law
Discussion
So Maybe its my turn to ask for some thoughts for my father in law.
Now 73, had a brain tumor 6 years ago, its now returned, very rare so they say, he cannot have another op becuase of the location, close to the base of the brain.
He cannot have radiotherapy nor chemo because he is too weak, he is too weak because he has aspirational pneumonia and today we learn he has MRSA and so is being moved to an isolation ward.
Now to top all that the poor sod has Parkinsons, and is now going to have to be stomach fed, peg I believe in order to get his weight back up before any treatment can begin.
Its all a vicious cycle, too weak be treated, can't be strengthened because of the lung problems....and so it goes on.
Just spare a thought for him, and the mother in law, kind old souls who just wanted to enjoy retirement...
And no I didn't make it up, I can't believe how someone can have so much bad luck in just over a month.

I am sorry to hear that.
My FIL lost his sister (she was 55) two weeks ago to an asthma attack, and his father has just been taken back to hospital as the nursing home cannot deal with his infection, and the hospital are refusing to treat it and will only "make him comfortable" which to me is euphemistic for keep upping the morphine until he dies.
It is a hard world in which we live.
