Morning,

I use the sony one, think its hd3 or something, the one with the 20gig hard drive.
Its great, great battery life and holds so much music on it.
I find it easy to use as well.

Archos AV Series might be worth a look at.

Especially if you have a digital camera as they have built in card readers so you can store pictures direct

Not totally built in (to mine anyway - AV480) need an adaptor for usual digicam cards tho' it can read some sorts directly.

The thing about iPods is...they're like VHS. Not the best but you can get so many bits for them to suit almost any situation.

Really are a good default unless you deffo want some unavailable feature.

We have just bought a couple of cheap creative players. We didn't want to spend loads so got some 512mb players. We looked at the ipod shuffle and it has a few flaws, the biggest for us being that you can only charge it via the usb port (£20 for a mains adaptor) We intend to use them on holiday so the main consideration was that it ran on AAA batteries as you will be scuppered if it goes dead on the plane.

speaking to the guy in the shop, it looks as if the Sony ones are amongst the best. The headphones seem to be the biggest factor in sound quality and sony make some of the best in my opinion.

iRiver H320 or H340.

Colour screen, works as an external HD so you can drag and drop files/music etc onto it
