I'm already starving but there's very little in the way of food at home.

So I've decided to have a baked spud (which means I'll be hungry for a considerably long time before I get to eat anything :().

I like to lightly "dust" mine in sea salt (the bigger the crystals, the better) after washing the spuds, prior to the application of lots of cheese and bacon and a mountain of baked beans...

How do you eat yours? :D

That's good. I find rubbing my spuds with oil gives very satisfactory results too.

Why not Microwave for 6 mins, turn spud over and microwave for another 6 mins. Pop in oven at 200 degrees for 20 mins. Sorted

chunky chips boiled in a fat saucepan full of oil.

Or for the only-just-slightly-healthier option, baked with loads of butter, cheese and black pepper.

The only time I'll have mash is as part of a 'fort banger'. It is a crucial element in the construction of one.

Leave the skin on and cut into fat chips then roast in oven drizzled with a little olive oil and thyme.

Helps if you have a blue cheese dip

Roasted in a pan of fatty lamb juice with lamb with onions, and crisped up in a dry pan before serving.

Given half a chance, my Dad would cook everything in beef dripping.

Mashed, baked, roasted, in chips or fried. Nothing else though.

I wonder if it would work if you stuffed it with black pudding and baked it then poured a tin of hot baked beans over the top
