Traffic police tonight

Right, tonight I'm doing a 7pm - 7am shift with the Traffic police in Manchester. I'll be working with a female inspector, who only goes out to serious incidents.
So no serious accidents please, or you'll be on telly!
Seriously though, if there is a bad 'un, will they tape off an area for examination, or should I just play it by ear?

heh, just got back home.
Had one RTA to the east of the city.
You wouldn't believe how quickly an advanced police driver can navigate the roads. I was scared to death, although I felt safe (apart from when he almost lost the back end on a patch of water).
I'll post more tomorrow, all I'll say is that 30-40mph impacts don't have create a mess.

'saw a traffic cop chase a biker (not of the moped ilk) through north London on TV cop programme a while back, I would imagine the TV man (or woman)in the traffic car was brickin it as well, and they caught the biker.
Well, after having a kip and getting up in the afternoon 
I still feel a bit tired.
Nothing much happened really, a few interviews with the accident inspector at the station, and then it was all bells ringing and into the police car to an RTA. The RTA was probably only about 2 miles from the station, but the driver covered that in I would say less than 2 minutes, and we're not talking open straight roads either.
In a partially marked (not full livery) Volvo S60 T5, I was amazed at how quickly and easily he cut through the traffic at monsterous speeds, at one point with the back end twitching around a slight left hander (cue some furious steering by the driver!)
At the accident, 2 lads in a Vectra had apparently been arguing in the car, come flying down to a residential T-junciton, straight across, over the curb, swiped a box van, spun the other way, and clouted headlong into a lamppost, and embedded itself in somebody's gable-end wall!
The collision had compacted the entire front of the Vectra, although both occupants were pulled out and are apparently now in reasonable condition, although they won't be going anywhere for a bit.
Hopefully nobody will mind me posting that picture, the investigators couldn't determine the speed but figures of 30-40mph impact speed where mentioned.
The woman whose house had been hit was a bit annoyed, the car had wiped out her television and sky system!
After all this, watching the accident investigators do their job, interviewing the various officers, watching reports being made out, all I can say is that once again (I've been filming the police for a few days now) I was very impressed.
There was also a car chase that night, but it was too far away for us to attend.
Honestly, after doing this for only a few days, you realise its another world. Its like nothing you've ever seen, trust me.
