Judging by the huge number of posters on PH that share their troubling issues on here.

Usually woe is me gf wont swallow types or "why is she not marrying me, Ive stalked her for years"

Banter in my book is cool but to post intimate details is in my opinion erm very odd.

Also to post woe is me life is awful type student threads also shows lack of character.

Is it the youth of today that lack backbone or is it a general trend amongst the whole nation to in some way escape consequences and responsibility for our actions.
Alternatively is just a shortage of t1ts and a4se and do the instigators just need to shag more?

nothing to add, except that i agree.

There are certain posters who are more guilty of this than others and yes, it does get on my tits, whatever happened to the great british stiff upper lip

True. But, then again, if it weren't for threads such as those we wouldn't have ample opportunity for extreme piss-taking.

ah, but people love a bit of drama, don't they??

Most types, anyway.

And most of us are happy to read them, regardless of what we think.

Exactly - it's all about fodder (and I don't mean the noise a pert breast makes when you slap it )

Yeah, I find it very weird - can't imagine anything deeply personal that I'd want or even feel the need to share with a bunch of strangers on the internet. I have real 3D flesh & bone friends for that.

There's one current thread on here right now that's so needy and morbid that I'm tempted to threadjack - but would doubltess be accused of being insensitive.

being insenstive around threads like that is possibly one of the few ways to cull the number of lonely hearts and my gf wont swallow threads we have here

I'm not sure I agree, at least not with all of the threads.

If a PH'er genuinely has an issue with their life and would like to share that with what they see as a group of people whose opinions they respect, then why not? It is rather sad that they don't feel they have a group of friends with whom they can share the problem, but that's hardly a reason to condemn them.

I agree that the details should be kept to a minimum, but if done carefully I reckon such threads could be helpful, especially on topics that they cannot discuss elsewhere (because they don't have any one to confide in or simply because they want to remain anonymous).

I've never had the need to post a topic myself. However, I do find some of the responses people have posted to recent such threads as somewhat unnecessary (and maybe they should go out/get shagged more so they don't feel the need to attempt to belittle others?)

Ah yes, but the shaving balls thread is indeed a sensitive subject and a deeply upsetting problem that requires the comments of fellow PHers.

You insensitive sod.

I've never been tempted to post my personal problems on the internet, as someone said I have real friends if I need them. I guess the people that do post this sort of stuff either don't feel like they have real friends who would listen to them or they are embarrassed and like the anonymous nature of things like PH.

If I can I sometimes try and post something helpful, if I've got nothing nice to say I usually don't say anything at all. Taking the piss out of people that are insecure enough to make that sort of post is a bit like shooting fish in a barrel surely? Although a firm slap round the chops and 'pull yourself together man' is sometimes the best advice.

There was a thread on here a few weeks back where somebody was telling the story of having feelings for a seemingly unavailable lady who also liked him but neither said anything. Cutting a long story short .....they ended up together, that was kinda sweet and a nice read IMHO.

Recipe for embarassment:

Take one normal male,
Add some emotional or personal problem,
Mix in embarassment to discuss such things with mates,
Leave to simmer,

Once thoroughly stewed, stir in a fairly anonymous forum
Ensure forum has people with wide range of experience who might have an answer.
Leave to stand

It's a fact of life these days that families are scattered and local communities are all but non-existant. Starting a family has been an interesting experience for us - we know of virtually no-one locally who we could turn to and say "what is it like, is this how you do it?". A few decades ago, your Mum, sister and a dozen family friends would be just around the corner to ask. These days they're in different towns, countries or even continents. You can play the stunted emotional development card ("Real men don't talk about these things", but the bottom line is, if you had some problem playing on your mind and could ask a bunch of people who (a)you never expect to meet and (b)might have an answer - you'd ask them.

..Then they'd take the piss

Some of the treads on this type of topic are a bit  Some are very good, particularly the one Kentish mentioned.

There is some personal information I'm happy to be known. On the other hand there are things I'd never post.

At the end of the day usual internet rules apply if you don't like it click on another link and shut the up.

and yes I do need to get laid more often
