Stolen Horse box

Yesterday lunchtime, someone drove onto field after chopping the padlock, allowed one horse out onto busy road. (few houses)
Hooked up, the old double horse box, and left with it, behind what we think may have been
[b]'newish van, with orange light bolted to roof'[/b].
Police were phoned,
meanwhile horse caught a few fields away, thank goodness.
Trailer was old, as I say, so not vital.
Waited on field for evening to see plod, but went home and rang them instead.
It was late last night, when we spoke to someone handling incident, and by which time, we'd been rang by friends, who thought trailer was residing across town possibly amongst
[b]'newish vans, with orange lights bolted on top'[/b].
Do'nt actually expect to see 'camp' levelled under a bulldozer, before a selected audience. and
[b]'newish vans, with orange lights bolted on top'[/b],crushed.
But,
would plod offer to have trailer recovered, or might this contravene, some thieving[b]'newish vans, with orange lights bolted on top'[/b]bye law?

Trailers are stolen all the time and it seems to me that the recovery of stolen trailers is a difficult business. A friend had hers stolen and spotted it locally and it took the police a fair while to try and get it back - one presumes there are proceedures that must be folloed etc. The difficulty is the darn things are moved on so quickly you need to react fast.

"Madam we are undestaffed at the present, but we will phone you back withing five minutes, when supervisor ? has looked into todays work ?
hour later and yet another, phone call got plod;
" An officer has been assigned to handle case"

"urmm I dont know"

"What will happen now, we told you where trailer was, last night"
plod
"well, we cant' just barge onto the site, just like that looking for stuff"

"why not?"

"we have to have a special order each time"

" If I had a stolen, car on my drive, I think you'd be round' straight away right!"

"now, now", anyway, is trailer still there?"
us,
"thats your job, to go and look surely"
anyway hours later, they returned a call finally, saying (triumphantly)
"Weve' found it, its on such a street,
(rather near shanty town)
you need to retrieve it straight away, or we will, and there'll be a charge"
we got recovery truck within 30' to said address, and no sign of it BTW.
following a fraught communication of exact place on street, plod came out and met truck, to determine, once again that trailer had gone.
I suspect that my intial, thoughts were correct and that the social group responsible, moved it off their shanty town, for a bit, before moving elsewhere in the country tonight most likely.
furthermore,I strongly suspect plod have dragged there heels all day, hoping for this outcome, and will not now have to disturb pykie thieving scum, from their business.
All in all, a satisfactory waste of my readies, was had by all

will pick up on this.

the consequent detection, and subsequent loss of, was also regretable.
We understand that on reporting the missing trailer, you also told us, make & colour, of suspicious van seen crusing the area of theft the preceeding evening"
"I can say, that neighbouring properties and farms in that exact area, are subject of targeting by thieves, and we recommend, locking up all property, and livestock, horses, we can't say at this time why,
but area is closely monitored, and a 999 call will trigger an office at once."
Just like our call on tuesday afternoon then eh

I've been searching for a machine, coincidentally
I would have "borrowed" a JCB and done the job myself directly.

Took our kayaks for a paddle on the sea t'other day, parked up in a public carpark, got back 30 mins late and got a £30 parking fine, fair enough, however two pikey vans had turned up since we went out and in that time had managed to fill said carpark with heaps of rubbish, old bikes and snotty screaming toddlers and can you guess whether they had tickets?????????????????????
4 days after initially reporting a theft we were promised a visit to take statements details etc, at place of theft.
plod promised to have someone there by 10 AM, they eventually rolled up at 7PM
announcing the pair of them to be the
rapid response team................
What a
shambles, the 'Scameraville' police have become, to have the nerve to show their face, after such a long delay.
Anyway they have, the formal complaint in writing, to bulk out the case notes.
I reckon, i've had more succes on turn outs, with a plumber, before now;
"PM, do ya guv, i'll have a look on me way home, just to see what I can do"
