Pubs and new licensing hours - objections?

Just wondering if there are people out there in PH land who are now going to register any objections to public houses wishing to extend their licensing hours?

The new laws are debatable as being a backward step and flooding the licensing authorities with work. But, they can work in the favour for residents who experience nuisance from local pubs who operate out of hours drinking, serve the under aged etc.

I would be interested to learn from anyone is compiling their objection as it these have to be submitted in the next couple of weeks.

..erm no, they are generating alot of money with the applications. even the pubs not wanting the extended hours have to submit paperwork stating so and of course the applicable fees.

The form goes to twenty pages if you believe what you read. Apparently there are going to be a lot of pubs that can't open late this christmas/new year. The police are saying they expect it will cause more trouble as there will be insufficient places for drinkers to meet the seasonal demand.

Cat A Ballsup maybe, but I'm looking for a pub in my area with longer opening. I'm still going to drink 4 pints of Guiness, but it'd be nice not to drink them in 90 minutes.
