Custom sound effects needed

We are building a new website for ourselves, and need some custom made sound effects for a castle.

Creaky doors, old wood, water dripping, chains and chairs, stuff like that.

We probably dont need custom sounds, does anyone know of any broadcast quality (or close) professional sound archives, preferably online archives which allow you to sample sounds before buying?

Any PHers in the business?

Check eBay - lots of sound effect CD's on there.

I seem to remember my sister buying one for a kids halloween party. Only, she had to turn it off as they were all getting too scared!

They're usually 8bit mono but royalty free! I've used them in songs and they're not to bad.

If I need sound effects for a theatre production, I normally use www.audiosparx.com/

Loads of effects, lots of poor quality, but also a good selection of excellent quality ones as well. You have to pay, but in my opinion well worth it.
