Boy am I angry!
Discussion
This morning I got a phone call from one of my staff. She was clearly upset, and went on to say that her 12 year old son was in Bracknell town centre yesterday, minding his own business and doing a bit of shopping. All of a sudden about 20 kids, most 16 or older, started kicking and punching him and beat him senseless. He's currently recovering in hospital. Thankfully no bones broken, but severely bruised. God knows what it's done to him emotionally!
It sounds to me like a "happy slappy" incident to me, but I don't know for sure. In any event, I've told my staff member that my company would:
a) Pay for him to have any appropriate coundselling;
b) If necessary, I'd employ a a private investigator if the police don't manage to track down the thugs.
If option 'b' is utilised, I'll have to think long and hard about how I use that information!

Via a Solicitor you can get access legally to any CCTV footage but time is of the essence as lots only keep it for a week or even less, - which of course the police will view anyway.
If you can identify the culprits, it is possible to bring a private criminal procecution in addition to going down the route of persuing compensation for damages, which if you can't identify the culprets can be claimed via criminal injuries agency.
PS Don't take law into own hands, instead use the law to extract the most hassle.

If the police can't meter out justice, then as long as the information is 100% accurate, I would just deal with the whole thing "privately" so to speak

But why should a decent person have to put themselves in a position where they could be open to prosecution? I know the reality is that sweet FA will be done to them, and I appreciate why you're saying that BliarOut, but it just makes me sick to the stomach. In fact, I feel a letter to my MP coming on. The British public can't take the courts treating justice like a joke for much longer.

Making me feel really old here. I wasn't allowed out unaccompanied (unless it was to the local playground) until I was 13 years old.
Scary the number of unsupervised kids about during school holidays. I know that some people 'have' to work but it is worrying the number of latch key kids about.

Poor little sod, I do know how he feels after spending most of the early 80's having the crap kicked out of my in bullying incidents. I was very short until I was 15y/o
If I were you I would be seeking CCTV to identify key perps. I would then use images from CCTV showing them "in the act" before anonymously sticking up very large wanted posters all over town pointing out exactly what it is these scumbags have done.
Of course some vigilantes may use information that you provide to take matters into their own ah-hem hands
etc
R
I think what you are doing is way beyond the call of duty, and totally commendable. Well done.
For no apparent reason, my youngest bro was punched in the face and thrown in front of a bus a couple of weeks ago. Would have loved to catch the 13 yr old aggressor in the act.
So far, the police have doen the square root of
all about it. And we know who the little scrote is.
Cue comments about this country going to the dogs, punishments don't mirror crimes, etc etc...

I have used private investigators in the past. I don't know whether you have, but there are a number of considerations. Email me if you want to chat a bit further on this one.

The legal system is there to ensure that justice is seen to be done. Without this, then there is anarchy. Unfortunately the current legal system seems to leave us with little choice but to head down that route.

Totally agree. I shan't let my daughters go unaccompanied into town at age 12. It's potentially too dangerous and I'm simply not prepared to take the risk. However, that said, I feel terribly sorry for this poor little lad. What a wicked thing to have happened.
The other week in my town a couple of youths on mopeds came speeding around a corner on the pavement
nearly knocking my youngest child to the ground. It was only because she stepped back in time that the f
idiots missed her, only by a few inches I might add. I felt such a rage of anger come over me I could have ripped their f
heads off but in a split second thought better of it since I'd be the one in trouble and not them.BliarOut said:

You're so right its not funny.
Crying shame it that its so easily savagable if the f
king politicians pulled their heads out of their arses and passed legislation to give less discretion to the judiciary to be soft on the small percentage constantly reoffending little scrotes who commit the huge majority of crimes. Hats off to Srebbe64 btw.

You deserve a pat on the back for that reaction, absoloutely first-class.
Many of us work for employers who begrudge us a couple of days off for the death of a family member...I tip my hat to you sir
As for the scrotes in question, if plod doesn't take it seriously, a quick word to the local press might help things along a bit.

This reminds me of what my boss saw on Sunday.
He was out shopping with his 2 year old girl, when he saw 20 teenagers/twentie-somethings kicking the shit out of an unconcious lad (his head was used as a football), they then started throwing housebricks at him. My boss threw his daughter in the car and called the police. This was on Sunday, as yet, he's heard nothing from the cop-shop. He's been racked with guilt, as he wanted to help, but with his little girl, it was out of the question. The thing is, this happens all the time in Watford now.
What the hell are the police playing at? Good grief, this makes me so angry. Even when you try to help them and be a good citizen they often aren't interested.
