Anyone out there able to offer helpful tips on good things to see and do in Talin, Estonia? Also tips good places to eat and have a small drink or six gratefully recieved. I'm out there for three or days end of next week.

Tallinn=';s old city is really beautiful. There are lots of hot chicks in Estonia, This time of year Pirita beach is probably nice. There are lots of great pubs and clubs in the old city which could be fun.

Yes you can.
There is one of those hover-boat type ferries... the journey time is around an hour.
Tallin is a fabulous place.... visited in 2001 and spent three days there... the nightlife was "interesting!"
At the time it was definately a place where "East meets West" although that may well have changed in the last four years.

Sounds like the old city is the place to be, which is good 'coz the hotel is on the edge of that.
Would be really good to visit some "traditional" estonian restaurants and bars. Could you ask if your mate has any reccomendations?

OK...well he just asked which hotel and is it Ulemiste? (don't know why that one!)

If he wants something really interesting estonian style hmmm there is one in the old city called OLDE HANSA, it is a resturant where the atmosphere from the origional period of the old city is recreated. If he walks down Viru st to the town Hall square he will see it. If he wants some thing really nice but expensivethe Bocca is the way to go a meal for 2 with wine etc is probably about 60 to 100 pound but it is considered to be some of the best food in Estonia. Another good resturant but again expensive owned by a friend of mine is called pegasus. For a traditional pub well if he goes to a street called Suur Karja that is where Suur Karja has about 10 bars on it and they are probably the ones with the best atmospheres.
My favorate places to eat and drink are the moderately priced one so that would be VS bar it is on Parnu Mnt (road) it serves really good curries and that sort of stuff, and the waitresses are all really hot! Then there is cafe Moskva which is a club during the weekends that place has great coffees and stuff, the waitresses there are also pretty hot!
If he wants like wine and Tappas there is a place called Wine and Tappas there is also a bar directly across from it called Nimeta now if he wants to pick up chicks nimeta and nimga bars are probably the best they are both on suur Karja, there is also cafe amigo.
