Since when did 'definitely' change its spelling to 'definately', and what the heck does 'would of' mean?

I'm thinking its some new fangled version of 'would have'?

I think I must be getting old.. I'm 33...

Oh and 'in one fowl swoop' makes me chuckle- it was 'one fell swoop' when I was a lad.

Actually, its "Would have", shortened to "Would've" and then bastardised to "Would of" as it sounds the same and people are generally thick...
