Wrong mate skin can harvested by a process called grafting I not to sure about the risks of rejection but it is no different from donating any other organ Kidneys, Heart, Lungs ect.

My aunt had a graft after an attack by a dog in the 1980's.

Very I am told by the Doctors I know.

Also you have to keep the graft clean and dry to avoid infection.

My aunt was really pissed off because she had just had her new swimming pool built.

Fair enough, I stand corrected. According to the blood assosciation website you can only donate skin after death.

I wasn't spouting off I had done some research.

Your example of it being no different to donating heart, lungs, or kidney is not a great one. Its tricky to donate your heart and live to tell the tale.

Yes you can.
They quite often use skin from a person's thigh, back or tummy etc to use elsewhere but in burns victims where there isn't much skin left to transplant they can use other peoples.
I've seen it done, rather like a vegetable peeler!
