Just caught the end of Make Poverty History. Leading Climatologist Sting has told us Global worming is really true so now it must be. Africa will not have its problems solved unless we solve the non existant environment problem. The Africans talk sense about protecting the rain forrest. But Dr Sting is convinced Kyoto must be implemented. Africa is not however in need of a impotent little man in rome giving the OK for the use of condoms. I wonder if this is the catholic pop stars version of missionary work. I have lost all interest in Africa all of a sudden.

Global Worming?

But all joking aside you have to wonder what Sting and other 'stars' agendas are here. I'd like to say leave politics to the politicians but that's 10 times WORSE!

According to the fella i was watching on Channel 5 the other night half the money it will cost to implement Kyoto would supply fresh water and food to every single person on the planet. Yet Kyoto if successfull will only put back man made climate change by a whole 6 years after 1 century. He made a very good point that by boosting the economies of poorer countries we would see a greater benefit as generally as countries like India get richer they will pollute less - like the rest of the first world.

Much like every other decision taken by Govt. there is so many hidden agendas that the actual issue at stake is almost totally redundant when finally deciding on a course of action.

Cheers,
Rob.

Hmmmm and he is hardly Arnold Scwazzeneger is he?

Maybe its cos he comes from the NE where it rains and now lives in LA where its hot. Or perhaps he is just a bit odd.

I hope Sting gives back all the money he must have earned from the Jaguar ads he participated in a few years ago.

He's a pop-singing champagne socialist out for PR like all the rest.

At least getting the Olympics yesterday took the media's mind off Africa and bloody global warming for 5 minutes.

What's wrong with getting yor top off? 'Pop' stars are not exactly noted for being shy retiring types. I can't say he makes me want to when he does that. In the interests of balance would you care to do the honours?

BTW the tantric sex thing was a wind up (couldn't afford the batteries)

And Stings a highly accomplished singer - some of his backing is absolutely top-notch

I don't know about you but the rest of us are ranting away with our pet prejudices.

Business as usual, I'd say.

Could do a lot more than that.

What we are spending on Kyoto just in the Western world excluding USA would not only provide water and food, but basic sanitation, basic healthcare and education for everyone. Add in what the lentilists demand from USA and where could we be?

What do Africans want?

Judging by the thing I saw this a.m. it appears to be a mobile phone. One shop was selling 1,000 recycled phones a week @ £10+ a pop. Phones originally given to charity I do believe.

What did one buyer do with his phone?

Rent it out to his local villagers to make calls @ 40p/minute.

What did he do with his money?

Bought a Beemer actually.

They don't call em Black Mans Wheels for nowt.
