Yay or nay?

I can't be arsed to Google for it, but will it be part of the olympics?

Perhaps we will finally get something back for our money.

It is being kitted out as a 20,000 seater sports & music venue, which will host the 2007 World Gymnastics Championships, as well as the similar events at the Olympics.

Only 20,000 seats ?

IIRC, the thing is 300 metres in diameter.
Surely it could hold 10 times that number.

raped from O2...
The O2's 23,000 seat arena, theatres, music clubs and exhibition hall will host an unrivalled mix of exciting events but it's also a perfect destination for a last minute night out. It's a whole district of restaurants, bars, clubs and brand new interactive experiences - all under cover and protected from the elements.

opens in 2007 (allegedly)

Employ architects, put together impressive plan that never goes into production and then resell back to the government. Wonder how much they'll make on it?

If a night out by a cement works south of the river is your 'thang'.

Mustn't grumble - got a depot near there. Wonder if they're going to have a fish & chip kiosk?
