Here's something that the Bullying thread has brought up. A few people described themselves as being overweight, small or wearing glasses at school - and hence targets for bullying.

So, would you describe yourself as above or below average in looks and have you changed much since you were a kid?

So far above average, I grimace in pity for fellow man when admiring my charming-yet-humble self in the mirror daily

Edit... on a more sensible note, perhaps like most, better looking than at any age Id let myself believe. Looks are one thing, esteem another. Id think esteem to be the more important and desirable quality.

Pretty kid. Awkward teenager. Couldn't comment on the present state of me, but I get by.

it would appear to me to be a bit of a random question, but i will answer it none the less (even if it is just a ploy to take my mind of the fact that i have an exam in 10 days time).

anyway, back on topic:
when i was younger i always looked of a younger age than my contemporaries, so it is difficult for me to say whether i was actually less/more attractive than others; i was just younger looking!
now i have been able to roughly catch up and i woul have to say that i am reasonably happy with the way i look and i like being on the recieving end of the occasionally speculative glance from certain strangers.

see what your question ahs done, you have made me go all strange and thoughtful!

Not the sexiest land mammal to occupy a space on the planet but definitely not the ugliest either. IMHO

I was bullied at school for being fat. Now a very fit 42 simply because I am aware of the importance of keeping healthy.

However, biggest difference is that I am 42 and not 11 and so have many many years of life experience to make me an interesting, considerate and decent person. That, above all else, is where your attractiveness begins.

Not bad looking I don't think, but certain things let me down, like my hair, which never does what I want it to, or my stomach, which wouldn't flatten even if you sent it to the gym on its own.

I've been compared to a fair few famous people who aren't bad looking, but I can't see many of them myself.

Teased mercilessly at school for being too tall and big chested. Funny how the ones that used to tease me, whistle at me in the street now for the same reason

Is it only looks that make you attractive then?

no wonder I can never get a lady friend ... dazzling personality, great sense of humour but face like a babboon's arse. there's no justice ..

I was a cute kid and something went terribly wrong during my adolescent years. I looked nothing short of a total muppet. Bad hair, (seriously BAD hair), extraordinarily bad dress sense, and just a bit of a geeky looking gimp really. Boys used to say to my face I was the ugliest girl they'd ever seen and wouldn't go out with me if I was the last chick on the planet. Hmm, a leeeetle harsh! I cringe horrendously when I see old pics of me. I mean, what was I thinking?!!

Now? Well, I think I'm OK. Since the age of probably about 19 I got aware, sorted myself out. I'm not the most confident; i have good days and bad days. I guess I know what my good features are and I use them to my best advantage. I am generally happy with myself! I wouldn't want to be anyone else - which has gotta be good

That’s a really hard one to answer without either doing yourself down or over egging it looks wise.

Beauty, as they say, is oft in the eye of the beholder.

To take the plunge I would say that I was overweight but don’t ware it too badly. I’m no stunner but then again I would never class myself as being ugly. THB I would have to say I think I’m better than average, particularly if your world doesn’t revolve around 6 packs. Thinking prop without the cauliflower ears and flat nose

6’2”, 16 stone, deep set brown eyes that change hue with my mood (if they go black - run for it). Brown hair. Always looked older than I was until the last year or two.

I went to stay with a friend I hadn’t seen in years last weekend and overheard a couple of her housemates, who I considered to be good looking, talking about me. The phrases “I’d like to f him senseless” and “Christ he’s cute.” Did wonders for my ego, as did their attention over the weekend .

As for overall attractiveness, including personality, would have to say well above average, although a little too arrogant sometimes, or is that just covering up insecurity?

It's weird, but I don't go for looks at all in a bloke. Ok, ok... if it came to a choice between Johnny Vegas and Brad Pitt, we know who is most likely to win, but I couldn't actually tell you what 'type' of bloke I go for.
