Fake aftershavey stuff

Here in Rhodes, I just brought some Lacoste. Packaging is the same, scent is almost identical to the point that I almost couldnt tell the difference (have some original stuff here)

The difference - Mine cost me 30GBP on duty free and this Rhodes stuff costs me 3Euros.

I know its fake but how can there be such a difference on a product that is almost totally identical!?!

The fake stuff, I would imagine, will go "off" quite quickly and won't hold it's scent for very long while you are wearing it.

The fake stuff may also have the propensity to irritate the skin due to less thought / research going into the product.

Dunno, I could be completely wrong though.......!

When I was in Crete last June, I got some JPG Le Male (replica ) - cost me the princely sum of 2 Euros. I put some on first, then wandered about for a few hours to check it didnt irritate before i bought it.

It smells exactly the same as the proper stuff I had, and still smells good after a year.

I wish I'd bought a job lot now.

Class story from a mate who is a copper in London. They caught a bloke selling CK aftershave from a suitcase on Oxford street. The guy was selling it for around a fiver (About a quarter of the price) boxes where the same, smell was the same. They guy had just bought it as a hooky job lot from someone and selling it cheap. Turned out the aftershave wasn't fake after all and the guy could've sold it for a fortune. So all they could get him for was trading without a licence

under bond vodka used to cost £4 a case(12 x 70cl0), for the stuff you pay 7 or 8 quid for. so 50p was do-able. robbing hmg had the rest duty and vat.

read once that the IRA have a lot to do with fake purfumes ect, and in many cases the balancer used within the potion was none other than urine.

id stick to buying it from the shops. might cost a few quid more each month but at least your not dousing yourself in piss

Was told that all perfumes come from the same factories in France. You pay more for some cos of expensive advertising/bottling and paying stars to endorse your product.
