War of the worlds
The Italian job
Flight of the phoenix
etc..etc..

Are we being ripped off? I hired The Italian Job thinking it might be a new improved, whiter than white at low temperature, best ever version. What a mug I am. Despite this, I will see War of the worlds, because I loved the original. How long will it be before we see The Godfather or Pulp Fiction remake? Hollywood has no scruples!

I've just ordered a copy of Vanishing Point. I'm not a movie person and never watch TV, but it just seems one of those films I just *need to see*

Of course, Amazon lists two films with the same name, for it's been re-done. I have seen neither but will have seen the '71 original some time next week.

Incidentally like many people, I've seen the original Italian Job about 10^100 times, and seen the remake once. I would gladly watch the original again. I wouldn't bother seeing the remake again.
