Where to buy a Warhol Original?

Hi All

A further art question here.

I have always loved the work of Andy Warhol and I would really like to pick up an original piece by him.

I am just wondering where I would start looking?

I know that his famous stuff goes for big money but I guess that smaller pieces or sketches must go for a lot less.

Lets say you spent £1500 on a sketch. How would you know it was original?

Nice choice. I can't really help you much I'm afraid, but please post a pic up of whatever you buy.

You can get Dali sketches surprisingly cheap I've noticed. I'm not a huge fan but I'm quite tempted.

And on that point, does anyone know an easy way to do a Warhol on a photo? I have a couple of pictures of my girls that I wanted to quarter into seperate frames and then Warhol them. I have no photoshop skills, nor copy of photoshop for that matter

To the poster formerly known as LotusLad, did you go to the Dali exhibition on the Embankment? Very good, but that bloke was one disturbed puppy

I missed it I'm afraid, but my mum liked it. Isn't the exhibition still on? I'm sure the statue advertising it is still in Waterloo.

I dont know the exact name of the site (it is on my other pc) but it is something like rasterbator.com and it will cut pictures up in to quarters and then let you print them out seperately

Andy Warhol studied art at the Uni that one of Claire's relations set up! /claim to fame

I have some picasso bits and pieces - fairly cheap! Fancy some Dali sketches as well, but will proabably wait a while before dabbling. I'm not hugely into art, some of the cheap 'big name' pieces are nice pieces of couriosity though. Quite funny having a picasso in your loo!
