4 pints = Binge Drinking ?!!!!!!!!

I was gob-smacked while watching GMTV today, apparently 4 pints now constitutes binge drinking - what brain dead, bleeding heart donkey came up with that crock of do do !!!!!!!!!!! :drink:

I only mention GMTV to be able to ask Does anyone else remember Penny Smith in a PVC Cat Suit on Banzai ages ago ?!!!!!!!!!!! :bounce:

Seen loads of signs on cans/bottles/pub walls pointing out that you shouldn't exceed a daily maximum of 4 units for a bloke and 3 for a woman... Once again its a campaign to protect everyones health based on no scientific evidence whatsoever.

I was under the impression that drinking more than 4 pints causes damage to the liver. That may be wrong, or just false information I've picked up somewhere, but I'm sure I've heard it from somewhere.

The Government etc. would have you believe that drinking, smoking, driving etc are all "bad" for you.....this is mostly bollox and should be treated with the same contempt that all other "Government" advice is taken.

Drinking to excess over the long run will probably shorten your life, as will living on a diet of fatty food blah, blah, blah.

Do you want to live to a ripe old age? Or do you want it to just seem that way?

I do that with Stella all the time. The weekend just gone, started for me on Thursday and I finished it Sunday night.

I don't have a problem, I just love Stella and will never leave her.

Funny that, me too. Four pints would finish me, but two bottles of red, no problem. Or even a large amount of single malt.

4 pints, binge drinking? Crikey, whoever said that wants to come over the snooker club where we all drink at weekends, 4 pints an hour for some before midnight and then onto the hard stuff.
I know one bloke, in his forties now, who drinks at weekends for the whole weekend sometimes, without sleep, no exaggeration. He's been doing it for many, many years also, no sign of liver damage yet.
