Sherlock Holmes

Are there any Sherlock Holmes fans or afficionados on here?

The reason I am asking is that I am currently in the process of writing an anthology of new stories, with a view to publication next year.

I have already had feedback from a number of experts and potential publishers, but I want a few more people to take a look.

You don't have to be a Holmes expert, but a little familiarity with the originals would be good. That said, I would also be quite interested in the thoughts or opinions of a few people who have never read the originals.

If you are interested, and can help by reading a couple of shortish stories, let me know here and I'll email some to you.

Oh, and when published I'll give you a thanks in the book.

Not read any of the originals for some time, but do like the TV adaptations. With school hols coming up, any reading material would be good. Would gladly have a read.

Mrs FiF is a real Sherlock freak. Whenever I arrive home flushed with success after some major coup she simply announces "Ah but I am the true Sherlock!"

And bugger it she is!

Yeah, I'm quite a fan and have read all of the Canon and a couple of things by other authors on several occasions. Would be more than happy to have a read through what you have done. Sounds pretty interesting.

Massive fan. Even went to see Jeremy Brett in the stage version in the 80s. Managed to charm my way backstage to see him. He gave me a signed piccie and wrote me a letter about a month later - top chap, and Pipe Smoker of the Year in 19-something or other.

Would be happy to read some stuff for you.

I only watched the TV versions and he is exactly how you imagine Mr 'olmes to be.

So AlexKP, are you finally going to bring Sherlock out of the closet and reveal him as a chocolate starfish trooper? Does he get hit by a drugs bust because of his opium habit? You going to resurrect Moriarty or get Sherlock to win "Sleuth of the Year" competition, narrowly pipping Hercules Poirot?

Just a few ideas!

Totally agree; Jeremy Brett IS Holmes, end of discussion....period!! Anyone who disagrees with that gets a cheese grater run across the face!
