Water sking at 100 mph!!!

Watched a little of the F1 World water sking yesterday at Hunstanton in Norfolk - are they mad?! Looked a little dodgy yesterday as it was quite rough, they had to keep it down to "only" 70 mph!

Those outboards sound very horny indeed when started for a few seconds out of water, V6s I believe!:)

Not that hard to achieve 100 on the pendulumn. I once had a boat that would do 80mph and a mad scottish mate who skied behind it at that speed.

They are effectively unsilenced as they usually exhaust under water. There is a powerboat club near where I sail, and some of the engines you hear starting up there sound positively
