Cricket dream team?

I hope the PH massive can help me with this one...
I've seen a fantasy league/dream team type of competition being run by The Times. It requires payment and has some prizes up for grabs. Does anyone know of one that's out there just for fun & that doesn't cost please? I am just curious to see how my selection would do...

and a couple of cheapie fill-ins that I can't remember. You were given a nominal amount of "money" and they wre all worth different amounts, so you couldn't just pick the best 11.

With you there, me, extra heavy Duncan Fearnley and ill fitting gloves vs Kent No.1 fast bowler for another school. Saw the run up, then heard the stumps being ripped from behind me by full toss yorker. Result? all out for 31. They also had the advantage of when they were in bat by having one Robert Key as opener. I think it took him about an over and a half to beat us. I did only have 18 people in my entire year though.

My Richards opening is Barry, not Viv.
Gower was the most sublime and effortless of batsmen and on his day I would rather watch him than anyone else.
I grew up in Hampshire in the 70's hence the slight bias in going for Richards and Greenidge. Cuthbert was fantastic to watch, destructive in a wanton manner matched since only by Afridi (rarely) and Gilchrist at full plunder. Barry Richards would have gone on to be recognised as one of the 5 greatest of all time if his test career had not been cut short by the South African ban. Gavaskar was a journeyman accumulator by comparison.
I was tempted to include Anderson Montgomery Everton Roberts and the late great Malcolm Marshall to complete the Hampshire bias but although I never saw Larwood (or Bradman) many still rate him as the greatest. I'd have him first change though, after "Whispering Death" and the great DK.

I'll admit Greenidge at his cutting and driving best was superb to watch but Gavaskar was perhaps slightly better against the new ball and is left handed of course - so the old RH/LH opening pair.
If you didn't get Greenidge early, you probably didn't get him and the same could be said for B Richards of course except you never got him really, early or otherwise.
From watching quite a bit of cricket in my youth I remember Hants had a guy called Andy Turner, short stocky left hander in the Graham Thorpe mould ... and wicket keeper Bob Stephenson, who, I thought at the time (and since) had the most strange upright stance at the wicket I'd ever seen ...
Left a good impression on a 12 yo that did. ie how not to do it.
Anyway, we're in for a absolutely cracking summer whatever happens - I simply can't wait!

Bob Stephenson was a really nice guy, ran a sports shop in Winchester for years. David Turner was a pugnacious little batsman and a fantastic fielder. He played once for england IIRC. We also had Jesty, Gilliat, Sainsbury, Tremlett, Mottram, Herman................. Most of the batsmen didnt get a look in though because Cuthbert and B A used to get so many!
Andy Roberts used to run in from the boundary at Basingstoke.
If we can keep everyone fit I think we can run the Aussies close. Harmison has got to fire though.
