Magazine subscriptions and summer reading

In magazines when it says 'get three issues for £1 and this fabulous free gift', is it easy to end the subscription after those three issues or do they make it difficult for you?

Looks like a good way to get myself some free summer reading.

What books would you recommend as compulsory reading? Are there any books the PH engineers would recommend that an aero engineering student read?
