Okay, following on from the 'whats the most youve spent' thread.
Whats the best mark up youve made - on anything...?
Mine is probably 2 push lawn mowers bought at auction -for a staggering 50p (yes for both)!!! I sold one of them for a tenner and binned the other.
Not big bucks but theres something very satisfying about it.

I listed 8 bits of gym equipment which were being auctioned off at my sports club on eBay.
Went to the auction, bought 2 rowing machines and a treadmill for £600ish, sold them for £1,050ish. A bit of work involved but nice money for an opportunity everyone else thought I was mad to go for.

Mine has to be on Star Wars toys (the old late '70s/early 80's ones). The most memorable was one I bought for about £300 from the states and sold a few months later for £2000!
I wish I still had the time to collect old toys - I used to come across some real bargains and fund my collection for free.

Similarly, when you're the designated driver in a pub and you buy a glass of fresh orange juice. The bloke behind the bar turns round, opens a 9p carton of Aldi's finest OJ, pours you a glass, hands it to you and asks for upwards of 70p...

Popcorn is indeed the most profitable substance in the world, more so than Heroin. Coffee et all. An article in the Times about a year ago listed the percentage mark-up but the figures escape me now.

Many, many moons ago, the Inspiral Carpets promoted Cool As 
on milk bottles in the Granada region, "hilariously" changing to Milk. Anyway, I used to work for Northern Dairies, so I filled up the float with all the bottles I could find, and sold them at various 6th form colleges in the area, and record fairs later on. I never got less than a fiver for one of them, most were around the tenner mark.
