Beano, Dandy, Beezer, Topper...

I was a beano/dandy reader and dug out some old comic libraries the other day :) Does anyone know if the comic libraries are still going, and what number they're up to now? I dont browse the kiddies sections of newsagents/smiths etc, but cant say I recall having seeing any on sale either.

Used to go to the "barbers" every Saturday morning in the early sixties for a trim, the queue was always about three hours long, but I never used to mind because I could read all the comics......"

I used to enjoy "The Victor" with Squadron Leader Matt Braddock, and Alf Tupper, The "tough" of the track, even "Gorgeous" Gussi the footballer....When he took a penalty, his butler used to place it on the spot for him, and he kicked it so hard the goalie flew through the back of the net when he caught the ball.....

I used to read the beano and dandy, got quite a few of them in a box in the loft.

Rediscovered comics with Viz later on.

Particularly liked the Top Tips section of Viz...

Sounds like the Long Range Desert Group - forerunner of the SAS. There's also a level in Medal of Honour: Allied Assault where you can do exactly that - drive round an airfield shooting up planes and any frightful Huns that dare step out

My brother used to read the Eagle in the early 50's, saw one for sale last year and got it for him, just over 4 quid I think, so if you've got any old ones, take care of them. Incidently, the Mekon was going strong on page 1 of the copy I got him, along with Dan Dare and Digby.

Personally, I used to read the Lion.

Ive got dandy comic library specials, numbers 2, 3 and a beano CL special number 10

And Dandy comic libraries (the regular ones) number 6, 7 and 23 I doubt they're worth much at all

And half a dozen number 1 issue american comics, including GIJoe (action man over here). Not worth a fortune, but worth something in the comic world.
