Most you've ever paid in a shop?

Excluding things like cars and stuff, what's the most you've ever spent in a shop - in one visit?
My wife and I were in New York a couple of weeks ago and I've just received my credit card bill. We (well she) got a little carried away in Tiffany's.
However, before I divulge it (I'm very embarrassed now) I'd like to know if others have ever let their enthusiasm get the better of them and regretted it.

Exactly right! It' one of the reasons I buy quite a few expensive watches. At the end of the day they are easily as good as cash in the bank - if you know what you are doing. And will often give a better return - plus you get to enjoy them.
I don't view buying such stuff as really spending the money.

Definitely!! And you can't spend the painting.
Most I've ever spent is well under £1K. Mind you I've never had more than that in one go.
I have made another interesting acquisition lately...
An Artist's folio of Leonardo Da Vinci first generation lithographs. These were taken from the originals. There are about 60 or 70 lithographs in the collection. This is the closest you can get to owning an original - the last simple pencil sketch of his went for about £10 million.
Only a hundred copies of the folio were produced in Paris in 1926. Almost all have been broken up over the years. The only other surviving complete one I can find out about is in a museum in the US.
I have no idea what it is worth - I need to get it valued. Any guesses?
