Taking a dog out the Country?

Has anyone ever taken their dog on holiday? A friend of mine wants me to fly his dog out to Sweden, and I have no idea of the legalities of this. Is a pet passport sufficient?

As far as I understand if your animal has a passport it is just a case of getting in touch with the airline and they will tell you what they require.
Get a dog carrier that is large enough but not too large as they are uncomfortable in too large a box.

Taking it out (of the uk) is fine. Bringing it back in is the hard part. Does he want to do that? Even with a passport there are lots of hoops to jump through.

I am flying, my friends dog, out there in my own plane, so no airline.

I am just worried I will be done for not having the correct paperwork.

What the dog needs is a doggy passport,EU standard(microship,vaccinations (eg.rabies,tapeworm..) Vets should know about this.
