High electricity bills? Check you rmeter!

Stupefyingly simple. My mother's electricity bills have been getting higher and higher. I checked the immersion heater, turned off surplus storage heaters, and still the bill got higher every quarter.
Today I noticed the orange light was on at the heater switch - but at 4pm....:scratchchin: Checking the meter clock thingy I saw that the time was reading 4.00 *AM*. So the heaters were on from noon until 7pm at peak rate!!
Luckily the meter is sealed so it's Powergen's problem and I'm expecting a large refund :) (though I'm not sure how they'll work it out). I don't know if the meter was installed wrongly, or whether there were 12 hours of power cuts.
Anyway, check you meter, folks!
