Help! First Date coming up!
Discussion
I've been chatting to a gorgeous girl at the gym for a few weeks, making my intentions fairly obvious ;) We started texting a couple of weeks back and then it cooled off...
So I've gone down for a run today and she was there, we had a really good chat, so I gave it another shot, asked her out and she only said yes! :cloud9:
Really chuffed as everything seems to be going so well the last week or so!
So where do I take her? Any classic first dates you guys have been on?
I haven't done the whole dating thing for a couple of years now as I was with my last g/f for nearly a year and since then the only female contact i've gone for is to get me through dry spells... ;)
I reckon she could be the new Mrs KR so I would appreciate some help, Thanks

Don't go thinking that way for a start, you're bound to fuck it up if you put that much importance on it!
Cheers,
Rob.
Good Point, well made...
Just got a good feeling about this one

I remember my first date with the current Mrs. I walked up to the main gates and the parents were leaving the house at the same time. I pulled the gate and tto my absolute horror the
thing fell down. It was one of those huge gates that you have on the front of those country house properties so it made and huge crash.
I remember standing there thinking "run, now". The old man said "what the hell have you done" and then quickly let me know he was winding me up as he could see I was probably in need of a toilet/bush/ditch. The gate was being repaired that day and the bloke fixing it had buggered off to lunch.
My heart rate still goes up thinking about that.

Isn't that a bit obvious?
of course. but its also a joke. King is my friend, and as such, we are able to share a joke. see how that works?
KingDick, how about you take her somewhere fun, where you can talk, but theres no pressure to be 'on' cos the environment is naturally entertaining? like one of those silly Mexican restaurants where you get to where the sombreros and stuff? i know that sounds devoid of class, but you have to wow to woo, for myself i reckon a fun time will serve you better. if you're relaxed you'll be better able to be yourself blah blah blah...
now THATS obvious. but true

Funniest thing ever happened to me, was when I was 17! went to drop a giant teddy off mysteriously at this girls front door after a promising date.
Foolishly sprinted from my car round the corner, forgot they had a really noisy gravel drive... thought 'bollox lets do it' and stopped to tip toe!
At that moment, a 3 million candlepower security light came on 'boomph' and her old man, who I had never met, swivelled in his easy chair and stared straight into my eyes! It was like he had thermal imaging retinas... no messing, straight at me!
Promptly filled my trousers, run to the front door and rang the door bell, ran off, then discovered I was still clutching the teddy!
Had to sprint back and only just made it out of sight as the door opened. The old man later said he'd never pissed himself as much as he had at that moment!

Take her to a mexican restaurant where all she'll think of all night is Antonio Banderas...
Actually that sounds good... First date with the ex was to a sports bar on a cocktail night, there was loads going on, bar staff chucking bottles around, doing the whole Tom Cruise thing... really took the pressure off having to 'impress'
I would just go out as if you were going out with a mate (not a drinking mate
). Listen - alot, tell a few stories and don't try to fill a silence with nonsensical conversation.
As a gentleman though I am firmly in the belief that you should pay for absolutely everything when you go out. Even on a first date. Not in a "I've got more money than you" way though if you know what I mean. I would suggest telling the waiter (if you go out to eat) to deliver the cheque to YOU and not her because service isn't always as it should be. This avoids the young lady trying to grab the cheque and avoids you having to wrestle the thing from her.
Good luck with it.
Perhaps follow it up with some white roses the next day with a simple "yesterday was great" message.
