OMG!

I was up early today (4.50am if you please)so I decided get down to unpacking as we just moved into the new place.

Naturally, the only thing the Mrs has focused on is making sure her clothes were delt with first. She has nicked off with one of the three rooms for her clothes storage at the moment and all I get is the space she can't reach.

I've gone through a few boxes already and have counted 140 pairs of shoes so far and there are a few more boxes marked "shoes" on them. I know women love their shoe but bloody hell. I need to keep an eye on this one as she seems to be keeping Manolo and Sergio in business single handedly.

How can I curb this obsession?

I thought you'd be on this thread. I suggest that when I eventually get back home and to a meet, we never, ever, ever let our respective Mrs meet. They'll only give each other ideas.

Secretly put super glue in her favourite pair. Next time she puts them on, hey presto, she can't take them off. She will not, therefore, reqire any further pairs.

This seems easier than removing her feet, whch is of course the other option.

The only defense I have for her is that...she looks great. Oh, and I never complain for that long because she will switch the argument around to cars or my gadgets! I tread carefully

When my girlfriend moved in with me, I was forced into sorting out the piles of car mags that I have in the cupboard in order to clear some space for her stuff. I didn't mind too much, a lot of them I didn't really want to keep (I kind of collect them) so they went to a good home.

I wasn't planning, however, on having the space absolutely rammed with about 100 pairs of shoes! How many does a person need?! Most of them have only been worn once, and the space is ever-filling with new pairs. I put it down to being one of those things blokes aren't supposed to understand... And then there's the handbags...

You could always persuade her to buy a very expensive sports car so that all her spare cash is lavished on that instead. The only trouble with that is, she'll probably get a taste for Todds' driving shoes.

Her buying a car unfortunately wouldn't replace the shoe frenzy. I am on 214 pairs with 3 boxes to go.

I love the way all my gadgets have been packed in anonymous boxes too so I have to search all day. I want all my consoles up and running. Nuts to the furniture. As for my car mags.....
