Some petulant action in another thread got me thinking. (A rare occurrence I know). People all being different have varying reasons to visit here, &/or post.

Me, I like to browse all the forums using the what's new facility & I occasionally throw in a bit of knowledge, if'n I understand the topic. I have to admit to slinging in the odd curve ball & deviation as well.

I'm mostly found on Pie & Piston though, enjoying the banter. As a result of my (short) experience of Pistonheads I've also attended a couple of meets.

Does that match your experiences & expectations?

Is that a reasonable use of Ted's resources?

I like visiting PistonHeads as it's great to be able to chat with like-minded people. Also, I can chat cars here so I don't have to bore everyone to death in the pub. I can get stuff off my chest that people can understand, and I can ask for advice knowing (most of the time) I'll get common sense.

PH has helped keep me sane over the last three years, the majority of which has been spent experiencing a new BBC docu-drama called Walking With Lentilists. Rather than drinking myself into a stupour or curling up in the corner and going bonkers when considering the fate of the world and the popularity of the Liberal Democrats, I can come here and think that somewhere, normal people hold sway over the real world.

There are some people on here who hate me, I know. I can honestly say that I don't give a monkey's, but I find it hard to fathom why they, in disliking me, follow me round topics they aren't interested in anyway/don't know anything about and hassle me - there's no need.

Just my £1 minus 98%

I've hardly posted on PH in the past couple of months... too busy trying to actually do my job for once. But similar to Twincam/V8s experiences, I come to these boards to escape from the increasing lentilisation of our world.

Also, Pistonheads is quicker than google at finding the answer to any question... hmm, maybe Ted should float PH on the stock market too?

I came here for the cars but it's the comedy that keeps me here. I do most of my posting on The Pie & Piston as well, because of my disease I don't and shouldn't hang out at a normal Pub so this E-Pub is perfect for me.

Ted seems like the kid of guy that would let us know if we are wasting his band width (and does on occassion) and I'm sure he laughs hardest of all at some of the stuff we come up with.

It makes a change to be able to indulge my interest in anything automotive without the risk of boring the other half.... even if I haven't got anything intelligent to say on a particular subject... there's so many people who have! (with at least one noteable exception ) .... and TP&P always provides a laugh when things are a bit dire at work!

I come here mostly because it's the best single resource of car knowledge / info I know of.

It's also an entertaining diversion from a dull job

It's got to be the best place to come, in order to plan your next car purchase! I love the member's fleet section, especially when people fill in the costs.

PH's is the only discussion site I come on.

I use it to fill the need for social contact during the day (I work in a room by myself), always to talk about interesting issues.

I come here to read the deranged postings of the elite, hardcore PH'ers who manage to make me laugh, despite the fact that they've been hitting refresh for 48 hours solid, fuelled only by coffee and fags

It can get addictive

I come to the forums for the banter, whether it be car related or Pie & Piston O/T, try to inject what little knowlage I have & relieves the bordom or work.

Been to a couple of meets, read the news items, sometimes click on the advertisers links if they look interesting.
