Airshows?

I want to book tickets for an airshow for this summer. Any special ones as 60 years on etc...

Which one is best? Duxford or..?

I love all aircraft.....more so WW11 warbirds :nerd:

Duxford Flying Legends in a few weeks is the biggest Warbird Display in the UK. Fairford is also coming up although I haven't been since 1993 (the year the MiGs collided )mainly because it is such a huge effort to get around the static display - it's about two miles long!

Old Warden - 18/06/05 (evening display)
Kemble - Kemble Air Day 19/06/05
Duxford - Flying Legends 9-10/07/05

Pick up the latest copy of Aviation News/Aircraft Illustrated/Flypast/Aeroplane Monthly etc - they all list upcoming aviation events.

For a show on a slightly smaller scale check out the roadshows section on PH East Anglias website [url]www.phea.co.uk[/url].
Theres a display at Rougham airfield on 21st August consisting mainly of the WW2 warbirds combined with the British Sportscar day.
Otherwise the Duxford display is usually pretty good, tend to go myslef to at least one every year.

I miss the West Malling Airshow... The airfield is now a housing estate and the pub cellar that was signed with all the names of fighter pilots has gone...

I've never been, and haven't been to one for a while actually... there was a really cool sounding airshow off the cliffs at ramsgate, but I had to work that weekend and missed it

The three biggest (hence most to see):-

Duxford Flying Legends - old stuff, very cool, very relaxed.

Fairford - modern military, big money, big event feel, LOT of kit.

Farnborough (next year!) - civvie and military, business-oriented but biggest of the three, lots to see. Paris I think is this September, and is similar.

That gets my vote. RIAT at Fairford can be too OTT, Duxford is ok but having spent 12 months on the Airshow tour with the RAF Tornado, maybe I am not the best person to answer this.

Yeah, go to Flying Legends at Duxford. More piston-engined fighters than you can shake a stick at. In previous years they have had 9-ship Spitfire scrambles, 10-ship co-ordinated airfield attacks with P51 Mustangs from all directions... It's a total hooligan day if you're into that sort of thing. Bearcats and Sea Furies tailchasing and pulling enough g to have vortices coming off the wingtips. People have been known to get their Display Authorisations pulled at the end of the day for the heights at which they've snotted the airfield. It's great.

Waddington is on Beginning of July, this is the RAF's big one.

RIAT is the biggest with largest attendance of aircraft.

Everyone should go to Fairford, especially now they have the traffic plan sorted out.
