Posh Picnic Ideas needed

I would like to make a really nice picnic for my loved one, any ideas, suggestions?

Find a local deli, and buy one - always works for me.
Yes, you can sort out one yourself, and it will, of course, be simply fabulous, but certainly the one near me does the most scrummy smoked salmon pate horns (like cream horns, only not)
Not massively expensive, unless you want it to be...

My picnics are always ruined by bad wind.

How about making it simple, just sliced meats and a cheeseboard with a few chutneys and some lovely soft rolls or ciabattas, maybe with a couple of salads like cous cous and a pasta and olive salad.
Dont forget the champers and strawberries!!

Thanks Di, that's a start, I'm quiet handy in the kitchen so don't mind preparing a few things in advance, the whole idea is that I don't just want to throw together some prepacked stuff, this is ment to be any expression of love, guys

Shame it's not a bit warmer. Picnic at night by candle light would be cool, but probably in the literal sense

Well..

For a picnic i always feel the following are needed:

Smoked Salmon, Lemon, buttered brown bread.
Caviar (fake.. Sainsburys)
Gentlemens Relish
Salad
Bread rolls
Honey Roast ham slices rolled round a Philidelphia core .. Tucking half a cherry tomato in each end is good, but can cause explosions when eaten!
Strawberrys
Pimms
Cider.

good suggestions from mxdi but if you are handy in the kitchen then don't forget to bake something tasty for pudding. Personally i think the key for a romantic picnic is the time and place, get that right and you are on a winner as long as you dont poison the bloke

Yep. Do it topless. He'll be more than happy with that and won't care if the sausage rolls are soggy.

Strawberries dipped in a plain, (pref quite bitter) chocolate then left to set are a perfect desert.

Beign serious, it really depends on your bloke. Is he really "Into" food or not?

If yes you could try;
1. Pickled quails eggs (either make or available from Waitrose
2. Some really nice unusual ham or salamis - just a few slices
3. Cherry tomatoes are always good
4. A few small bits of cheese, only you know whether to include a goat's cheese or not Nice chutney to go with it
5. Some nice bread / ciabatta
6. Some nice olives
7. Drink - maybe a good rose or a nice lighter lager style beer
8. Light salad with maybe rocket, roasted peppers, good olive oil and some artichoke hearts

If not try
1. Decent beer
2. Good ham and chutney
3. Really nice top notch pork pie & mustard to go with it
4. Good bread you know he likes to go with ham & pork pie
5. Cheese if he likes it
6. Snacky type things you know he likes

Dessert - strawberries dipped in good choccy is a great idea.

Don't forget the blanket whatever you'll use it for

Oysters?
With stout or Champagne.
Easy to pack, flat on a bed of ice packs in cool box.
Take a decent schlucking knife so you're not breaking into the car tool kit.
After an hour you'll be either as horny as hell or as sick as a dog. So it's going to memorable either way.
