People !

i think its time to stop the insiduous creeping cancer that is the nanny state !

Lets consider the state of the country, and indeed most western societies, these days.

We are being conditioned. Conditioned on what to think, what to say, what to do, when to do it, how to do it, and who to do it with.

In the UK, our people have somehow voted in a government which is determined to control us, convinced that it knows better than we do , what is good for us.

We cannot go anywhere without being photographed on cctv. And the technology exists now to make sure that the cameras recognise who we are and records where we have been.

Pretty soon, if the gov has its way, we will not be able to drive anywhere without the gov knowing where we are, determined as they seem to be on installing tracking devices into our cars under the auspices of , supposedly, taxing car use more "fairly".

They also try to control what we think. They infuence the media, and create the spin that so characterises modern day political debate. It seems that what is black is white, and can be argued away. Our elected politicians can lie and deceive, and yet somehow they hold on to power.

In the US, things are even worse in some respects. A frightened people seem to be under some collective sense of foreboding, as if they are under seige and their very existence is being threatened. In this climate of fear , alternative thinking has become taboo and questioning the status quo brings fear of being branded unpatriotic. Mccarthyism is alive and well.

We seem to be lost. And the EU in general seems no better. People are fearful. Fearful of change, fearful of foreigners, fearful of everyone it seems. The impact of the unravelling of the Soviet Union is still working its way through the culture of Europe, and we have not yet seen things settle down.

People spend their time watching other people on TV being photographed on CC tv and competing for money : conditioning youth to the idea that being monitored all the time is not a problem - hell, it can even make you a star, even if you have no particular talent ! Heck - why bother acquiring a skill anyway when you can just get famous on big brother ! ??

What can we do to stand up to this manipulation ? How can we combat the sheer apathy that permeates society so that even as our freedoms are being stripped away, we sit impassively and just watch them do it - distracted by the latest reality TV-related scandal that replaces real news in the newspapers ?

I feel like sticking two fingers up those who seek to control us.

Bring along a new punk era , that what i say.

Heck, the most radical thing in the music charts these days in a bloody frog, or Coldplay.

I rest my case....

Kill.

Is she really going out with him ?

I don't give a damn I don't f***ing care
I'm gonna kill me mum then pull out me hair
I'm fed up with the dole and the human race
I'm gonna cut me liver out and shove it in your face.

Kill ! Kill !

I don't like animals or lifting heavy weights
I'm gonna shoot me fingers off and carve up all me mates
Gonna steal a motor car and smash it all to pieces
Gonna cut me liver out and pin it on your braces.

Kill ! Kill !

I'm apathetic, I'm lazy and rude
I'm boring and I'm stupid and I'm vicious and crude
I get thrown out of pub for pissing on the floor
I'm gonna cut me liver out and nail it on your door.

Kill ! Kill !

Yep.

Just been hearing Darling prattling on about tracking where we all drive in order to tax us while also watching our every move.

Then surf the TV only to find aliens on big brother playing to the CCtv.

Watch the news and realise that it has all gotten very, very weird. And there is a frog on a pretend motorbike on TV twice in every ad break, designed to steal money from small children.

Maybe I am just a GOM, maybe I'll feel better tomorrow. But tonight, Matthew, I am pissed off.

Tomorrow will be better.

Nicked for speeding on the way to work.
Nicked for parking when you get there.
Watched by security on CCTV whilst at your desk.
Nicked on the way home for speeding (same camera).
Then 'er in doors might start when you get home.
Grand life ain't it. Remember Reggie Perrin?
