Weird Abi Titmuss text message...
Discussion
I just received a message where all the screen said was 'Abi Titmuss sucking cock'. Is this a new scam/virus or something?
It has made my phone go funny:
- There was no name (not even 'anonymous') and messages always show 'new message, from..' in the screen whereas this one went straight into the message.
- There is a picture in the corner of the phone which normally tells me I have a new message which has now changed to have the letter 'w' in front of it.
This is my business mobile not many people have the number to. Weird. Any ideas?

i dont think text messages can affect the way a phone operates (i might be wrong tho).
as far as i am aware, a text message is just that: a text document that the phone displays and takes no further action on.
an mms message could in theory be different as it can contain attachments (eg ringtones and pictures) that the phone can open and utilise. but i have not heard of any verifiable claims of viruses sent to mobiles.

Digging around the phone a bit it appears to be a WAP push message which is trying to get me to click through to something. Digging around on google shows that the site (http://mob.ms) is a well known mobile spammer, so no big concern, I've just deleted it.

Is that the same 'Mob' invloved in the British Superbike series (used to be Monster Mob, now just called The Mob), previously with Ducati now running the Stobart Honda's?
The "W" icon is probably your phone telling you you have a new WAP Push / Service message
The WAP Push message is basically a bookmark which you can go and retrieve (and if you do, you'll probably end up subscribed to some porn service)
Messages from >@ are usually sent by your network to reconfigure your phone. You can just delete them. I've not heard of anyone sending "malicious" messages like this before, but there's a first time for everything. Just doublecheck your WAP settings haven't been changed to dial up some 090 number or something!
