Bridport area

Going there on Saturday for a week, anyone know anywhere good to visit in the area, not sure on weather next week either so covered perhaps ?

I always used to go to Hive beach near burton bradstock - very clean, very quiet, very nice! And just down the road is Westbay which is a harbour/beach that is a popular meeting place for bikers. They all congregate outside the pub (I think its called the George) and its all friendly banter.
I don't actually know Bridport too well itslef but these two beaches are close by and well worth a look IMHO!

Head along the Coast Road to the village of Abbotsbury, it's a decent drive with excellent views. Abbotsbury has some good touristy places or just visit the beach.

That's a beautiful part of the country, and where I had intended to be this weekend, but got something else planned instead... Anyway, Chideock is just down the road, from where you can head towards the sea and begin the long hike over Golden Cap to Charmouth. It's a fairly steep climb, but lovely views. We sometimes go at Christmas when the weather's rubbish, but the crashing seas and moody skies make it a fantastic place to be! From Charmouth you can poke around on the beach between there and Lyme Regis for fossils or dog poo.

Instead of turning right to go over Golden Cap, you can turn left and go the other way towards Bridport which is a nice walk too.

If you haven't got any legs, there are plenty of good pubs all round there, but I can't remember any of their names.

we are taking dog, so fossils might need some caution when approached for examination,
if its a bit moody weather wise, is there anything anything else to see ?
