Without even getting started on how wrong it is for someone to get paid £40k a week to kick a fucking ball around, this beggars belief!
A Teesside Magistrates Court spokeswoman confirmed the footballer had been given legal aid, which is now known as a representation order, and will mean his legal costs are paid for by the state.
She said the reasons are that he is a French-speaker and so could not defend himself and, if he is convicted, magistrates would have to consider making a football banning order which could put him out of work.
She said they could not take money into account when making the decision.
Wrong Wrong Wrong. What a fucking state this country is in.

I would feel extremely smug if i was the particular lawyer that thought of, and pulled this off.
I think we should be happy we have a system that is so damn fair. Unfortunately being a lawyer/accountant and many other proffessions means your sole job is to push the rules and regulations as far as you can to benefit your client so this is bound to happen sometimes, and clearly a loophole needs to be closed in this case.
Cheeky sod, eh.
Rob.

This comment should give pause for thought:
"If we're all innocent until proven guilty, why should anyone have to shell out to defend themselves? Legal aid should be given in all criminal cases (and have to be repaid if there's a conviction).
Mark O'Halloran, Brighton, East Sussex"
In essence maybe everyone should get legal aid lawyers.
Money should not be a factor in determining guilt, it is inherently injust.

He was adamant he'd learnt his lesson and wouldn't do it again.
Here we are, two spitting incidents later.
I didn't like him before the interview but I gave the benefit of my doubt to him.
After the latest outbursts, I'm 100% confident the guy is a complete w*nker and t
t combined into one overpaid gobshite.

I know it's childish but I still get an
kick out of doing this when some muppet is trying to sell me legal services or the such like
Even better when you are calling for car insurance quotes and having told them your job they then ask if you would like legal insurance for a further 20 per month or whatever.
