My girlfriend has measels. Do we have any inhouse experts? How long will she be infections for, and just how contagious is it - is there anything I shouldnt be doing to reduce the chances of catching it? :scratchchin:

The stupid, misinformed mass hysteria over MMR has come home to roost. We do not have enough herd immunity to these diseases now and are suffering the consequent epidemic. I went out and had the MMR as a mature adult just to be safe.

Echo that! Death rate for measels is 1 in 200 IIRC?

Seem to remember geting all my vacs as a kid in the early 80s, so pre-MMR

When I was about 12, I had the mumps at the same time as Gary Glitter, we were in the same Doctors together at the same time.

And no, he didnt 'give it to me'

Interesting article here which says there used to be 100 deaths a year from 800,000 cases. The last paragraph is typical government the in the sand bollox though.
