Late Starters?
Discussion
On my way home last night, winding my way through London rush hour traffic I came across a learner driver.
As I pulled up to a set of lights I glanced across to see an understandably stressed chap in his mid 30's
It made me realise:
a) How lucky I was to not learn to drive in London
and
b) That I am very glad that I got a licence as soon as I could.
Any of you folk with petrol in your veins come to worship at the church of Optimax at a late age or have we all done it as soon as is humanly possible?

I was 28 before I passed.
Blimey!
Fair play Lisa.
Did you just not fancy it up until then or was it for a reason like moving out to the stick etc?
I first took lessons when I was 18 but failed twice, I then moved to Derby and went to Uni and I couldn't afford to do it anymore, plus I was in walking distance of everything I needed at the time.
I then met James and after seeing him for about 2 years, he bought me lessons for Christmas as he wanted to move out of the city into the sticks so it was then that I needed to drive if I was going to go with him.

A lad I grew up with (also in Cardiff) missed the Guiness World record for youngest holder of a UK licence by about 2 hours.
He passed on his 17th as well.
Our next door neighbnours lad who is 12 has just been bought a racing mini, so I reckon he will be passing at a very young age

Got 3 points for going through a red light when there was a police car behind me and then a telling off for trying to hide down an alleyway.
I then got another 3 for Due Care & Attention, or rather the lack of it, when I caused a 'small' accident.
6 points and you're out in your first two years of driving so I had to re-sit. After reclaiming my license though I haven't had a single point in 6 years. Touch wood.

and had to resit. Failed the second attempt (bastard examiner), but on my 3rd go I passed with a clean sheet. Just glad I didn't have to pay for all those lessons & tests
