Banning baseball caps is the "Old people's" response to any situation. Fair enough a lot of trouble makers wear caps, but the majority of cap wearers are peaceful people. If this is the steps you are taking them why not just ban trainers and jeans etc.... In fact why not just ban everybody under 50 to ensure "zero tolerance" is maintained.

Anti-social behaviour has no bearing on what you wear, take the clothes away you will still have the same anti-social youth. They need to sort out why they are being anti-social and fix it.

I think its a good idea in principle.

Bluewater is getting overridden with chavs.

I feel less inclined to spend my money there.

I know they were thinking about an entry fee at one point.--£10 would have just about done it.

I dont think they will be enforcing it on everyone though, so i really cant see a Grandpa being turfed out of the premises because hes wearing a cap.

I had a similarly amusing conversation with a bouncer outside my local bowling alley.

That's the reason that most places use for banning caps.

But in a mall, set in deepest Chavdom (no offence to any PHers in the Bean area!), that sells more caps and hoodies than anywhere!

I have to agree with you, having been to Bluewater and since it was opened and have seen it become a "hive of scum and villany" overrun with baseball cap and hood wearing Chavs who shout and swear, cause problems, undoubtedly shoplift and lower the general tone with their monster munch odour.....

I think an entrance fee might be an answer, although perhaps a way of doing that would be to charge for parking and prohibit buses from dropping passengers there..... (bit draconian, I suppose).

It's hardly liberal to ban a section of society based on their dress sense.... but I guess until a way to exclude the troublemakers can be formulated, these sort of ideas will come to the fore.

Seeing Americans suited & booted + wearing caps always amuses me. Do they not know how stupid they look (especially when pairing white trainers with the ensemble)

So older people are to be trusted not to steal? Get a grip, you have to enforce rules for everyone, even if they are stupid.
