I actually find this truely offensive, how can someone who has publically disgraced himself come back into senior government...just like Mandelson, Tony is an Idiot.

No-one else wanted the job of pensions, a big black hole in the funds to be announced later in the year. Blunkett may well just be a fall guy.

People are just going to have to accept that they won't be able to retire until they're 75.

Blunkett is a truly corrupt minister. He used his office to fast track a passport for the nanny of his lover and used public money to purchase her a train ticket to which she is not entitled.

He is a disgrace and it says everything about Blair's morals (he hasn't got any) that, just like Mandy, Blunkett's straight back into cabinet.

He’s no idiot. He’s a very able politician but like the rest of us a fallible human being.

And he sent 'Bimberley' dog to kennels for
re-homing, as little dog fought with his guide dog.

Animals are after all a better judge of charactor than mere humans.

I'm sorry, in what way is he able?

As for being human, a man is his position has no excuse for the mistakes he made, that is just crass stupidity

You're not serious?

This lot got into power because of the sleaze of the previous lot

(which does rather pale into insignificance )

Hi - Unrep, well.....I totally agree with you and Blunkett's little air punch on arriving in Downing St. was as offensive a piece of undeserved triumphalism as I have ever seen.

Tony's 'listened & learned' - my a***! Not a clever start for the new Govt.

PS You lost in Taunton....just!

I hate New Labour and I would be the first in line to put Tone's head on a stick come the revolution. Blunkers has come across as a non-robot, a bloke who is as human as me, who gets caught with his trousers down, a normal bloke. Out of all the New Labour yes men, I would drop most of my preconceptions with Blunkers, he's got to be a good bloke. Everyone s up, everyone deserves a second chance. I reckon he's a lonely bloke which is a sad thing.

Obviously a copious amount of Guinness has reduced me to using the word bloke too much so bloke bloke bloke bloke bloke.

Interesting to note he will also be in charge of the highly controversial Incapacity Benefits reform!
I see his first comments were along the lines 'you're gonna have to save for your pension' - no mention of tackling G.Brown and getting him to drop his £5B annual grab from the pension schemes.
