I wish it would stop raining
Discussion
ahhh reet.
House is 1910 terraced, pitch slate roof.
Never been touched since it was built. All the slates are still there, just a couple of slipped ones are letting water in when it rains heavily.
Is it easy to get in the loft and just tap them sideways a bit? I don't want to break any.
Eventually I'll get it all re-roofed with new slate (the existing ones are very brittle).

You could slide them up from inside, I assume it is not felted. Make sure you get the top of the slate onto the batten, the only trouble is getting it to stay there. Ideally you need to get up there from the outside and keep it up with a lead strap.
Your roof is probably nail sick at that age.

Thanks, when it dries a bit I'll give it a go. No felt, never has been.
Lots of the battens/lats/whatever are a bit rotten now with age. Timbers are all still fine though.
I have a piccie actually, taken from when I was installing a cast iron fireplace back into the front room:

Looks like you got that plaster stuff pointed underneath your battens, they used to do it to prevent snow ingress and stop draughts. It also looks like your leadwork has gone around the chimney as you can see the water run marks down the chimney stack.
The timbers look pretty good though.
